The Spiral of Silence

Located in the midst of the historic Chapultepec Park, this memorial respects and recognises those outstanding global heroes that have selflessly saved the lives of others. We call them Upstanders.

The journey through the spiral walkway is interspersed with plaques that tell each upstanders story.


Architecturally the spiral’s woven integration with the forest makes no impact on the ecosystem, and provides visitors with outstanding views of the park and surrounding city.
This intriguing ecological solution uses wood and concrete but respects the nature of the park.
